BOLDER TASTE

CHALLENGE: An established specialty coffee client asked Mont Blanc to recreate the taste of the chocolate syrup they’d been selling for years.

SOLUTION: Mont Blanc did as requested—but also presented several variations with very different chocolate profiles. To better complement the dark roast character of their coffee, Mont Blanc created a more intense chocolate syrup.

RESULT: Our customer’s clients surprised them by expressing a clear preference for the new taste profile. Based on their test findings, the adopted the new flavor and it quickly outsold the original mocha—becoming their top selling flavored beverage.

BETTER OPS

CHALLENGE: Our customer offered a blended coffee frappe made to order with fresh-brewed espresso. Although the drink was popular, the customer realized they could create considerable savings and efficiencies if they reproduced the taste while streamlining preparation.

SOLUTION: To replicate the flavor, Mont Blanc first worked with one of their manufacturing partners to create a liquid coffee extract using the customers’ own proprietary espresso beans. Once the extract was created, it was delivered to a second manufacturing location and blended into a product that was packed into a uniquely sized 46-oz. aseptic container.

RESULT: The finished product had a stronger coffee flavor, and packing it in the 46-oz. size allowed the end user to blend a single carton with a half gallon of milk in a one gallon container creating a consistent, operationally easy-to-use drink mix.
